DC Easy

The DC Easy is the newest dragonCopter electronics board. It was designed in 2014 by Hoppel/ Helge. In a compact 50x50mm PCB Size (compare to only a MK Flight Control Board), it features an incredible integration never seen before in the quadrotor world. Using four Allegro Microsystems A4960 Motor Controllers bound via SPI / PWM to a STM32F405 Processor as the core, it is able to directly control four brushless motors.

The Power Input is from 2S to 6S Lipos (4.75 V to 28 V). The Brushless Motor Controllers are designed up to 20 Amps of continuous current.

It has the following inertial measurement unit: an MPU-6000 connected via robust SPI (6DOF, 3 Axis Accelerometer and 3 Axis Gyroscope).

The GPS and Compass Sensors are expanded via a 6 Pin JST Connector.

So far, 4 PCBs have been assembled but software is not ready yet (we need to integrate the Allegro SPI Code). This is planned for CCCamp 2015!

It will be very nice and clean cabling, since for a simple Quad without navigation features, only a single PCB is needed! No more extra ESCs to solder and power distribution boards and the like!

The dragonFly Version 1.2 is the heartpiece of our electronics:

It contains an STM32F405 Processor as the core, which is a high perfomance 32 Bit Microcontroller with a hardware floating point unit running at 168 MHz.

It has the following Sensors: the IMU is an MPU-6000 connected via robust SPI, an MS5611 baro sensor, a HMC5883L magnetometer.
